OUR MISSION
Ethereal is an international climate youth-led nonprofit working to make the climate movement more accessible to vulnerable communities and businesses. We aim to educate and empower a diverse coalition of people to tackle the climate crisis. We have over 9000 volunteers working to increase access to climate education. This international movement has reached millions of people across 60+ countries. We help businesses navigate their ESG challenges. We also have consultations and mentorship available upon request. We have leveraged the power of Artificial Intelligence to make the climate movement more accessible.
OUR STORY
Ethereal was first envisioned by Leena Joshi, who realized the need for climate education while on a trip to Switzerland when she was nine years old. Leena was shocked when she saw that the AQI in the country was extremely better than her country. The pollution in India was so bad she couldn’t see the stars at night. The more she read online about climate change in Asia, the more alarmed she became. Asia is currently facing a climate crisis with temperatures in the region rising more than twice the global average. Leena brought up these concerns to her peers but was shocked when they informed her that they knew almost nothing about climate change.

After discovering Leena's resources, her peers have become supportive of Indian environmental defenders and are eager to learn more about climate solutions.

Through her experiences, Leena has seen that there is more the climate movement can be doing to support individuals such as her peers. She hopes that other students will join the Ethereal team and provide resources so that every person, regardless of the background, can learn about the climate crisis.
